Elizabeth Arkhangelsky received her Ph. D. degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel (2006 – 2010). From 2010 to 2013 she worked as Post Doctoral research fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Dr. Arkhangelsky joined Nazarbayev University as Assistant Professor in the end of 2013. Currently she is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering. Dr. Arkhangelsky has around 15 years of experience in membrane research. Her expertise includes water/wastewater treatment, pressure driven membranes, fouling mechanisms and control, colloids’ transport mechanisms through nanopores, nanotools for membrane pore size determination, forward osmosis, membrane distillation etc. She is an author of peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, conference papers, etc.; her h-index and number of citations is 15 and 756 (Scopus), respectively. Dr. Arkhangelsky is an invited peer-reviewer for the Journal of Membrane Science, Water Research, Desalination, etc.; and a recipient of BMBF-MOST (German-Israel); Reiger, Jewish National Fund Program for Environmental Studies (Israel); Levi Eshkol, Israeli Ministry of Science (Israel); Ministry of Education and Science (Kazakhstan) and Social Policy (Kazakhstan) research grants.
